When Emily Zuckerberg’s husband was diagnosed with carcinoid cancer, she learned there was no NETs support group in existence in New York City. So she started one of her own. Our support group usually meets on the last Sunday of each month at 2 p.m. on the upper east side of Manhattan, and all NET patients, caregivers, family and friends in the greater New York metropolitan area are welcome. Please check the sidebar on the Welcome page for date changes.
We are an informal, friendly group who have been meeting since 2013. Each of our members is in a different phase of his or her NET journey, from recently diagnosed to living with NETs for many years. We share our experiences, questions, concerns and information. Many of us have found that sharing our experiences has enhanced our understanding of our diagnosis and treatment options, and helped us improve the quality of our lives.
We co-host a very popular series of Luncheons with the Experts where patients and caregivers have the opportunity to meet with experienced NETs professionals in an informal setting. Over time, we look forward to expanding our activities and expanding the information available on this website in response to the needs of the local community.
